The Rwandan government is to be commended for its steadfast focus on conservation and we feel very lucky to work in partnership with them and other conservation organizations in the region to help achieve the country’s conservation goals. “Conservation achievements like what we have seen with mountain gorillas do not occur without vision and support from the very top. “I think Dian would be amazed to see what has happened in mountain gorilla conservation over the last 32 years since her death - its international recognition as a success story, and the critical leadership provided by the Rwandan government, which is deeply committed to the conservation of its wildlife and resources,” says Dr. Weaver also serves as the honorary chairman of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund, a position she has held since the making of the film. Excerpts from Fossey’s own journals and other writings will be narrated by Sigourney Weaver, who played Dian Fossey in the movie “Gorillas in the Mist,” based on Fossey’s book. Called “ Dian Fossey: Secrets in the Mist,” the documentary will feature rare and never-before-seen archival footage, newly shot footage of the gorillas today and of the Fossey Fund’s work. The National Geographic magazine article is in the September issue of the magazine and online, while the television special will air in December. Tara Stoinski, President and CEO/Chief Scientific Officer of the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund. “We are thrilled to see Dian Fossey’s story in National Geographic again, after 50 years of history,” says Dr. The September issue of National Geographic Magazine Now, 50 years later, National Geographic magazine and the National Geographic Channel are again helping to tell the story of Fossey’s legendary work and the ultimate success of gorilla conservation in Rwanda, with special articles and a three-part television special. In particular, the cover story of her life among the gorillas in its January 1970 issue brought international attention to her work and helped catalyze a movement of support for gorilla conservation that has continued to this day. From the very beginning, National Geographic was a significant partner in Dian’s work - providing grants to support her research activities and featuring her work in multiple National Geographic magazine articles. Dian Fossey founded the Karisoke Research Center in Rwanda in September 1967 to study the rare mountain gorillas. You can set this nailer to two different firing modes: bump mode, which fires a nail with each "bump" of the nailer's tip against the wood surface, or sequential mode, which requires a squeeze of the trigger for each nail. It even has a LED light to help you more accurately place your nails. The nailer has a brushless motor, which provides more runtime and longer motor life with fewer requirements for maintenance. The kit includes a 20-volt, 2.0 amp-hour battery that can shoot up to 800 16-gauge nails on a single charge, plus a charger and a carry bag. If you're getting ready to install trim, molding, baseboards, or similar materials, then it's hard to go wrong with this powerful finish nailer from DEWALT. We researched and evaluated the cordless finish nailers in this roundup based on their power and capabilities, their configuration and ease of use in confined areas, the number of nails they can hold, and their overall value. A cordless finish nailer allows the user to move around a room or an exterior work site without having to drag around a compressor and an air hose however, many contractors still choose pneumatic nailers for their proven reliability.” There are various types of nailers, distinguished by the sizes of nails they handle.ĭeane Biermeier, a carpenter and former licensed contractor, as well as a member of The Spruce’s Home Improvement Review Board, says: “Cordless nailers are excellent for speeding up smaller projects and for general DIY use. This powered tool shoots nails at rapid speeds and high power, making various carpentry or construction projects much easier. When tackling a project that requires plenty of nails, like installing trim or molding, you could wear yourself out with a hammer, or you could instead use a cordless finish nailer. Moonveil is only dangerous when your connection is bad, hom & rob are both easy to bait out & outmaneuver. Nowadays i barely take katanas seriously. Gone are the days of hosts in full onion armor doing nothing but running r1s with a washing pole. Its very hard to rollcatch with anything but a running r2 & even then good luck. In this game everyone uses katanas despite their incredibly inferior moveset. The skill ceiling was fairly high, the moveset could easily rollcatch & was generally a great all around choice for any build. In ds3 we had straight swords, (lothric straight sword) which were fairly unique in how you could use them. For the primary meta weapon of this fromsoft game they lack any of the teeth previous meta weapons had. Everyone uses them so everyone knows how to deal with them. So please stop running into my game with your fight clubs. I don’t interrupt your pvp by running into your pvp to assign both players side quests. I know some people have fun doing both, no doubt. They can already summon each other as duelists but god knows why they don’t and waste everyone’s time by summoning unknowing hunters and invaders to their fight club. Please, From, create a separate arena for pvp or fight club. 2 out of 3 of those are some staged scenario with a friend nearby or fake host in some rune farming operation. 4 out of 5 invasions are summons from some jacked PVPer begging you to fight them and show off their build or katana. Then a third person entered the room with a chess piece of their choice and started a fight with one of the pieces on the board, in the middle of game play. Just at a game level imagine you were playing chess with a friend. I told him to go back to COD if he wants to beat up people with weapons. The other day some 10 year old kid I invaded complained in a dm afterwards to me that I beat him with magic and madness. PVPers want Fortnite or fight club and not an engaging game. PVPers are why - in part - people don’t take games seriously as art or even as games. In fact that’s what makes a game a game and a sport a sport. And a game doesn’t have to have a winner and a loser. The real dedicated pvpers are people who want ER to be Mortal Kombat with armour and swords. There is a time and a place for that but just not in game. It’s time for a dedicated non-game space for PVPers. It’s been said before in a nicer way I know. But overall I think they will always be a staple in these games and there have been many, many cool variations of them throughout From Software's history. Katanas seem controversial now.which is strange.just use what YOU like and forget everyone else.but they have become somewhat ubiquitous so there will inherently be some hate attached with that fact. Literally getting stronger with every subsequent hit. Hand of Melania with the shard of Alexander, rotten curved sword talisman and millicents prosthesis makes me feel like a whirlwind of death. I've never cared too much for river's weapon art so it just augments the blood build up lost by maining HoM. I currently main hand the hand of Melania and off hand Rivers of blood. I have been trying to find my perfect katana build for almost 500 hours. Event though its weapon art was a bit wonky, it had its time and place. In dark souls 3, I found onikiri and ubadachi and never looked back. The lost variant hit for a ridiculous amount of damage if you stacked bloodtinge gems. (when poison was at its best, except in the sunken king dlc) I made a savage skill/blood tinge Chikage build in bloodborne. In OG I used the washing pole, its two handed R2 was broken (in a good way) letting you stay far away from your ceptively far away. I've been using katanas in souls game since dark souls 1. I'm gonna go on a bit of rant that will probably get some hate but that's ok. These suspensions tend to be a little more expensive, but the benefits certainly pay off,” Whitfield said. In these applications, the vehicles may regularly venture off paved roads to do the dirty work so they require a high level of durability and stability, but they also will spend a significant amount of time on the highway where the smoother ride is beneficial. “These would be commonly seen in logging, oil field, heavy equipment haul, etc. Lastly, specific jobs lend themselves better to air suspensions in the vocational world. Whitfield noted that, in both cases, steel spring and rubber spring configurations, equalizing (walking) beam suspensions are the most common and effective for providing optimal stability, mobility, and traction. Vehicles used in more weight and ride-sensitive applications where traction and durability are still needed, such as refuse, mixer, or dump, would be well suited for an elastomeric (rubber) spring suspension. This could include vocations such as construction, utility, or mining. “Applications that are not as concerned with ride quality or weight efficiency but need to be more cost-effective would be more likely to use steel spring mechanical suspensions. Vocational trucks, however, incorporate a variety based on the requirements of the application. Again, the suspension choice is greatly dependent upon the vehicle’s application,” Whitfield noted.įor the most part, on-highway vehicles used primarily to haul freight on highways and interstates utilize mostly air suspensions, which provide the smoothest ride and lower maintenance. Heavy-duty vehicles (Class 8) are most often tandem drive axle (6x4) configurations.“These vehicles can utilize mechanical steel spring suspensions, mechanical elastomeric (rubber) spring suspensions, or air suspensions. “Air suspensions can often be found in applications such as food and beverage, moving van or other applications where optimal ride quality is desired to protect the cargo,” Whitfield said. Typically, mechanical suspensions will be found in applications such as utility, dump, or box van.Īccording to Whitfield, the air suspension will be lighter and will deliver a smoother ride but will be higher in cost and typically require more maintenance than a mechanical suspension. A steel spring mechanical suspension will be the most economical solution and will provide better stability but, in most cases, will be heavier and will deliver a stiffer/rougher ride when compared to an air suspension,” Whitfield said. “These vehicles are most often equipped with mechanical, steel leaf spring suspensions such as Hendrickson’s HTS suspension, but when used in ride sensitive applications, air suspensions such as Hendrickson’s HAS or PRIMAAX EX are also available. Grateful to have learned about the health benefits of nutrient dense, plant-based, foods, no meat, no dairy, no seafood etc. It is also freezer friendly if you do want to freeze it. Storing Tips Make up a batch and then keep it in a sealed container in the fridge where it will last up to 5 days. Your emails with new recipes usually result in what’s for dinner tonight for my family :) ps From my own experience eating plant-based/nutrient-dense (lots of cruciferous greens, nuts, beans, seeds, mushrooms, onions, berries, fruit, veg) usually ends up balancing everything perfectly so that there isn’t any issue with “yeast overgrowth” etc – for me and my family plant-based (for most of my life and 5 children) aka vegan = we never, ever get sick, not even a cough or sneeze, year in and year out – no prescriptions, no ailments. Just add raw cashews, nutritional yeast, crushed garlic, lemon juice, sea salt, ground black pepper and some water to your blender jug. Other poets in Ego-Futurism include Vasilisk Gnedov (1890–1978), Igor’-Severjanin (1887–1941), and V. In contrast to Cubo-Futurism, the Ego-Futurists employed a less typographically rigorous method of experimentation and were more interested in the intensive exploration of the “self” through poetry. Ego-Futurism, like Cubo-Futuristm, was preoccupied with urban imagery, eccentric words, neologisms, and experimental rhymes. He wrote numerous manifestos and ran the Petersburg Herald. Another widely celebrated poet to come out of Cubo-Futurism was Mayakovsky, whose poetics were a mixture of extravagant exaggerations and self-centered and arduous imagery.Īfter his death, Mayakovsky was canonized by Joseph Stalin as “the best and most talented poet of the Soviet epoch.” The second sub-school, Ego-Futurism, gained momentum in 1911 with poet Ivan Ignate’ev, who lived in Petersburg, Russia. His poetry, albeit innovative and inspirational to his contemporaries, was too impenetrable to reach a popular audience. His study ranged from dense and private neologisms to exotic verse forms written in palindromes. Khlebnikov was acclaimed as the most profound and inventive poet of the Cubo-Futurism movement. Major poets of this movement included David Burliuk (1882–1967), Aleksej Krucenyx (1886–1968), Vladimir Mayakovsky (1893–1930), and Viktor (Velemir) Khlebnikov (1885–1932). Cubo-Futurism called for a broadening of the language with arbitrary and derived words. The Russian Futurists split into two sub-schools: Cubo-Futurism and Ego-Futurism. Russian Futurism, like Italian Futurism, began as a revolt against the symbolist movement in Russia. Other important Italian Futurists poets were E. In “Immaginazione Senza Fili” (“Wireless Imagination”) and “Analogia Disegnata” (“Pictorialized Analogy”), he discussed the maximum freedom of imagery and metaphor, which led to expressive use of typography-a varying of font sizes and styles within a word or on the same line and free disposition of words on the printed page. He enunciated the principles of Futurism in relation to poetry in “Parole in Libertà” (“Words in Freedom”), demanding a language free of syntax and logical ordering that allowed the poet to rapidly convey intense emotion. Marinetti (1876–1944) titled “Fondazione e Manifesto del Futurismo” (“The Founding and Manifesto of Futurism”), which declared that artistic work without an aggressive element could not be considered a masterpiece. Italian Futurism began with a manifesto by F. In contrast, it showed a preference for the visual arts that discussed conservative social elements and challenged them in order to provoke a violent negative response. The Futurists strongly rejected the self-awareness behind the overextended lyricism of S ymbolism-the dominant school of the time. It promoted extreme artistic innovation and experimentation, declaring a radical disassociation from the past and a focus on new art, technology, and politics, commonly manifested through primitivism. Futurism was a twentieth-century Italian and Russian avant-garde movement in literature and arts. |
